Lorna Spenceley writes about the stories John Hemming has revealed of people who have lost their rights and been silenced by the judicial system.

An absolute must-read by Anna Raccoon on the Westminster Hall debate on injunctions secured by John Hemming MP. Astounding revelations, including that court orders can prohibit people from talking to their own MP! Please spread this far and wide - it is protected under Parliamentary privilege.

The Economist's article on its poll (the one reported on PB.com). Bad news for Lib Dems: only 8% of those polled thought we had stuck more closely than any other party to the deficit plans we had in our manifesto.

Mike Smithson highlights an interesting opinion poll that shows that Labour still gets most of the blame for the cuts. People are also keener to blame the banks than George Osborne, but could that rebound on the Coalition if it isn't seen to punish the banks enough?

Jock Coats picks up on the grassroots organisation of protest and neighbourhood watches in Egypt to make the case for a refreshingly "bottom up" view of democracy and government. A thought-provoking read.

Charlotte Gore reminds us that being dependent on others is not very fun: "You trade your dignity and your autonomy for it, and you hope and pray that the person in control isn’t a sadist who takes pleasure in abusing those who have no choice but to suffer whatever is inflicted."

A guest post on Jonathan Calder's blog. While progress has been made at hacking them back, it seems the tentacles of the database state are still creeping outwards under the Coalition.
