Perhaps we need to think about our end game and the strategy we are running.

It is better to compare similar regional and local areas than it is to compare against the generalisations of the national picture.

Until the public think that we are addressing their concerns, or at least understand them, at a national level it won’t matter how well we campaign at local level, or how well we follow ALDC campaigning guidelines, people won’t vote for us.

Tge Lib Dem vote is still there it's just they are staying at home.

Hopefully come May 3 we won’t see another cull of Lib Dem councillors, for if we do we’ll see many more downtrodden activists who are wondering what the point is. But, more importantly, the chances of saving basic front-line services will have gone down, and that is by far the most important thing.

It may not have been a good budget but it was good politics from the Lib Dems.

What we are doing isn’t working and what we need to change if we want people to stand for us in local elections, join the party or vote for us.
